Working with a client referred to me by my former university, I produced and directed an 18th-century proof-of-concept promotional teaser based on the life of French-British engineer Marc Isambard Brunel, inspired by the historical Novel by Alexander JP Wren CEng FICE.

Key responsibilities:

  • Helped develop and adapt a creative, practical and achievable shooting script with a first-time writer moving into film and TV from engineering.

  • Working within a period setting, I managed all aspects of preproduction, production and postproduction workflows in line with a tight budget considering the time period (e.g. costumes, props, locations).

  • Organised a micro cast and crew under covid-secure regulations on location at Fort Amherst in Chatham.

  • Adopting a remote-working schedule due to the ongoing pandemic, I worked closely with the postproduction team to ensure the writer/client's notes were being addressed at each stage.
